Hi, my name is Alicia and I am a past resident of Boys & Girls Town . You all changed my life and I am grateful that I was placed there. Otherwise, I swear, I would be strung out on drugs and probably not be alive.

I was looking through some papers that I kept from my Substance Abuse group therapy. At some point I realized that I needed to change and start taking care of myself. Since then I can honestly say I hate drugs and I have committed myself to helping people with drug problems. So far I have helped three people I know become sober and to date I have been clean and sober for 1 ½ years and love it.

It seems the older I get, I begin to see so many people lost, confused and in pain. I realize how lucky I've been to have people in my past that helped me. Everything that Boys & Girls Town taught me has kept me off the streets, happy and very much alive. Thank you! It will stay with me for the rest of my life. You all have helped me more than you can imagine.
