The 2007 School in the Wilderness program for Boys & Girls Town children recently kicked off this summer. For six weeks, children from all campuses and in foster care take part in a one-week summer wilderness retreat at the 1,200-acre Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch in Steelville, Mo. The program provides educational and therapeutic activities designed to challenge children both physically and mentally and opportunities to learn teamwork and develop positive self-esteem. |
