Boys & Girls Town of Missouri Receives Grant from St. Louis Mental Health Board
for Capital Improvements at its St. Louis Campus
St. Louis, Mo. (Aug. 7, 2007) – Boys & Girls Town of Missouri was awarded a $47,500 grant from the City of St. Louis Mental Health Board to help complete renovations at its St. Louis campus on Westminster Place in the Central West End.
The capital improvements will renovate existing facilities with physical improvements designed to directly benefit children and families and enhance the results of the services offered at the St. Louis Center campus.
The interior renovations will include: creation of The Kidz Zone area for foster children awaiting emergency placement; expansion of the current foster care case management offices; and configuration of two conference rooms, to accommodate therapy sessions and other program-related meetings.
“The grant from the St. Louis Mental Health Board is a wonderful opportunity to enhance our existing space to provide the absolute best care for the children and families we serve,” said Kathy O’Brien, vice president of Boys & Girls Town’s Eastern Region.
In 2006, Boys & Girls Town of Missouri’s Eastern Region based in St. Louis served 1,044 children and family members through treatment programs such as foster care case management, individual and family therapy, day treatment education, residential care and educational programs for foster parents. |
