Boys & Girls Town of Missouri Receives $8,000 in Grants to Support At-Risk Children
St. Louis, Mo. (Sept. 11, 2007) – Boys & Girls Town of Missouri was awarded over $8,000 in grants from the Ronald McDonald House Charities and Webb Foundation.
The Ronald McDonald House Charities grant will allow Boys & Girls Town to purchase recreational equipment for students enrolled in day treatment education at The Academy at Boys & Girls Town.
The Webb Foundation grant will support programs and services offered directly to children and families in the St. Louis community.
In 2006, Boys & Girls Town of Missouri’s Eastern Region based in St. Louis served 1,044 children and family members through treatment programs such as foster care case management, individual and family therapy, day treatment education, residential care and educational programs for foster parents.
“Boys & Girls Town is so thankful to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and Webb Foundation for their support,” said Kathy O’Brien, vice president of Boys & Girls Town’s Eastern Region. “These grants will allow Boys & Girls Town to expand and provide the absolute best care for the children and families we serve.”
The Ronald McDonald House Charities reaches out to meet the needs of the community by funding programs specifically benefiting children in the area. Beneficiaries of Ronald McDonald House Charities grants are nonprofit organizations that have demonstrated an ability to respond to the needs of children and their families in a definitive, hands-on manner that yields measurable results.
The Webb Foundation is a family foundation that primarily supports the welfare and education of children and youth – particularly the indigent and handicapped as well as at-risk children. The foundation also supports social service agencies, especially those contributing to the improvement of society or the care and support of disadvantage people, elderly, higher and secondary education, health and hospitals. |
