Boys & Girls Town of Missouri Receives $25,000 Grant
from the Dana Brown Charitable Trust
St. Louis, Mo. (December, 3 2007) – Boys & Girls Town of Missouri was awarded a $25,000 grant from the St. Louis based Dana Brown Charitable Trust. The grant honors Boys & Girls Town’s recreational therapy programs for children.
This grant will assist Boys & Girls Town in developing a variety of permanent structures at the organization’s Meramec Wilderness Ranch which includes a 7- acre lake, rappelling tower, fire ring, sport courts and more.
Children from across the state will utilize these additions while participating in innovative recreation therapy programs. These programs are designed to challenge, encourage and support children as they learn to replace negative behaviors with positive, healthy choices. Every year more than 650 children benefit from outdoor recreational therapy experiences at Boys & Girls Town’s Meramec Wilderness Learning Ranch.
“Boys & Girls Town is grateful to Dana Brown Charitable Trust for its support,” said Vince Hillyar, president of Boys & Girls Town of Missouri. “We are proud of our commitment to experiential programs, such as those at the learning ranch, which help strengthen the character of the children we serve.” |
