Boys & Girls Town of Missouri Names Charlotte C. Christ
Vice President of South Central Region Based in St. James
St. James, Mo. (April 8, 2008) – Charlotte C. Christ, LCSW, ACSW, has been named vice president of Boys & Girls Town of Missouri’s South Central Region based in St. James.
Christ has more than 25 years experience in a wide spectrum of disciplines within the field of family and children’s social services. She has served at federal, state and local levels and as an assistant professor in baccalaureate and graduate social work programs.
Christ served on the federal level at the National Center for Social Policy and Practice, National Association for Social Workers. Some of her experience at the state level includes directing the Mississippi Governor’s Office for Children and Youth. She also was director for the Mississippi State Department of Mental Health Child and Adolescent Serve System Program. She also served as president and chief executive officer of Mississippi Coalition for Mothers and Babies and director of a youth employment training program in Senatobia, Miss.

Christ is highly regarded nationally in the field of social work and has been the keynote speaker at many national conferences and workshops. She is a prolific writer and expert in her field.
She will oversee all programs based at Boys & Girls Town’s St. James campus and the Meramec Wilderness Learning Ranch in Steelville including residential treatment, community treatment homes, Independent Supported Living, community outreach, individual and group and family therapy, and recreational and equestrian therapy.
She replaces Vernon Salter, who was serving as interim vice president.
She joins Boys & Girls Town from Edgewood Children’s Center in St. Louis where she was director of the residential treatment program.
Christ is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. She earned her bachelor’s social work degree from The University of Georgia and her master’s of social work degree from The University of Southern Mississippi. |
