Boys & Girls Town Hosts Successful Trivia Night and
Raises More than $15,000 for Children in Treatment Program
St. James, Mo. (April 18, 2008) – A sold-out crowd of more than 300 competed for the title of “Let the Good Times Roll 60’s, 70’s 80’s” Trivia Champion, which was earned by a very exuberant team from Hutcheson Ford.
Over 40 volunteers from the surrounding area helped throughout the night, which included staff, community members and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity and Chi Omega sorority from Missouri University of Science and Technology.
Each category consisted of eightquestions from categories such as toys, candy, movies, television, politics and music. Questions centered on popular culture for the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Judy Hillyer & Lee Buhr of Results Radio were the master and mistress of ceremonies.
“This is a spectacular event that brings the community together for a great cause,” said Vince Hillyer, president of Boys & Girls Town. “We would like to thank the participants, volunteers and sponsors who helped make the night a big success for children.”
Generous event sponsors of the evening included Coverdell Mirror & Glass and First Community National Bank.
More than $15,000 was raised for children who are victims of abuse and neglect and are treated through Boys & Girls Town programs.
