Missouri Coalition of Children’s Agencies Names Boys & Girls Town’s
Carla Treece Outstanding Child Care Worker in the State

St. James, Mo. (November 17, 2008) – Carla Treece, cottage life supervisor at Boys & Girls Town of Missouri’s St. James campus, has been named the outstanding child care worker in Missouri for 2008 by Missouri Coalition of Children’s Agencies. She received the 2008 Dwight E. Branson Child Care Worker of the Year award at the organization’s recent annual meeting.

Treece joined Boys & Girls Town in 1997 as a youth care worker. In 2004 she was named cottage life supervisor, in which she provides direction and guidance to youth care workers and ensures residents of a safe and caring staff.

The nomination submitted for Treece praised her continuing efforts to encourage children to be active and get involved in outside activities such as visiting museums or conducting car washes. “She is loved by her residents and subordinates and has dedicated her life to educating and caring for youth,” according to the nomination.

“We are proud of Carla and the great relationships she has with our children and staff,” said Charlotte Christ, regional vice president of Boys & Girls Town. “Carla is a wonderful example of how Boys & Girls Town cares for children.”
