The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation Donates $210,000
to Boys & Girls Town of Missouri

St. Louis, Mo. (November 19, 2008) In October 2007, the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, Inc., presented a $210,000 challenge grant to Boys & Girls Town’s Central Missouri Campaign in support of renovation of its Columbia campus and expansion of treatment programs in Central Missouri. Donors responded to the challenge and this month, the foundation officially awarded the funds to Boys & Girls Town.

Boys & Girls Town of Missouri’s Columbia campus provides treatment programs for troubled adolescents. The agency opened two newly renovated cottages to double the number of children in residential treatment from 24 to 48.

In 2007 children were referred to Boys & Girls Town of Missouri from 28 counties in Missouri more than 5,000 children and family members through on-campus residential treatment, community outreach treatment and prevention programs.

The J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation, Inc., a Delaware non-profit corporation was formed in 1948 by Mr. John E. Mabee and his wife, Lottie E. Mabee. The purposes of the foundation are to aid Christian religious organizations, charitable organizations, institutions of higher learning, hospitals and other organizations of a general charitable nature.
