Boys & Girls Town of Missouri Receives Gift
from the Earl and Elizabeth Toutz Charitable Trust
Springfield, Mo. (December 8, 2008) – Boys & Girls Town of Missouri’s Springfield campus was awarded a gift of $17,250 from the Earl and Elizabeth Toutz Charitable Trust.
This gift will enable the agency to continue to provide adventure therapy programming to the children in treatment at Boys & Girls Town who struggle with emotional and behavioral problems, often as a result of abuse and neglect. Adventure therapy includes activities such as rock climbing, rappelling, ropes courses, camping, horseback riding, backpacking and others. By participating in these character-building activities, children at Boys & Girls Town learn to overcome fears, trust in themselves and build healthy relationships with adults.
“Boys & Girls Town is grateful to Earl and Elizabeth Toutz Charitable Trust for their support,” said Chip Wolf, regional vice president of Boys & Girls Town. “Adventure therapy is a significant part of the treatment process at Boys & Girls Town, and we are very passionate about providing therapeutic recreational opportunities for our children as part of their recovery. We are grateful the Toutz foundation shares that passion.” |
