Missouri’s Newly Elected Officials Visit Boys & Girls Town
St. James, Mo. (December 18, 2008) –Over 40 of newly elected legislators recently visited the St. James campus of Boys & Girls Town of Missouri as part of the state’s annual freshman legislative tour.
To learn more about social services in the state, legislators visited various agencies, including Boys & Girls Town. The legislators were greeted by Boys & Girls Town children and were briefed on services provided by Regional Vice President Charlotte Christ. The legislators were then addressed by Vince Hillyer, president of Boy & Girls Town. He spoke to the legislators about the importance of keeping Missouri’s children in mind when considering policy decisions.
“We were honored to have the freshman legislative members visit our campus,” said Charlotte Christ. “We are grateful for their public service and evidenced support of Missouri’s most vulnerable children.”
