Becoming involved with the community, and getting the community involved is a key part of the treatment program at Boys & Girls Town of Missouri and the Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch. There are many ways to get involved at the Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch in the capacity that best suits your desires.
Volunteer
Volunteering out at the Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch is a great opportunity. It is a way to make a positive influence on our community and literally change lives in the process. You can volunteer to work with the children or volunteer to work on a service project on ranch grounds. Both are essential for our program and volunteers are always needed.
Volunteering with the children
It is very important for children with histories of abuse and neglect or emotional and behavioral problems to learn that there are adults in the world that are caring and trustworthy. By volunteering at the Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch to spend time with the children as they participate in the programs here, you are helping these children learn this valuable lesson and becoming a positive influence on their lives. We encourage volunteers to participate in the activities alongside the kids and in doing so, build relationships that foster positive change. All individuals who wish to volunteer with children must complete a volunteer application and background screening.
Service Projects
There are always projects that need to be completed around the Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch from trail building to the construction of different activity projects. This is another great way to affect children's lives in a positive way while helping to improve the facilities and programs offered.
