Facilities

  • School in the Wilderness Site — semi-primitive camping area with a base camp and 7 campsites.  Each campsite is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring.  Water and Latrine facilities are available.
  • Backcountry Campsites — Primitive camp sites located throughout the 1,200-acre property for groups of varying sizes.  Each has a designated tenting area and fire ring.
  • River Access — more than three miles of riverfront on the Meramec River, the Meramec Adventure Learning Ranch has four established access points on property as well as many more use agreements for canoe/kayak access off-site.
  • Challenge Course — extensive team initiative and low challenge course situated in the adventure area of the ranch
  • High-Challenge Course — one of the most extensive high courses in the Midwest.  Includes multiple activity options and choices, dual 800’ zip lines, power pole, giant swing and vertical playpen.
  • Barn and Equine Facility — barn and riding corrals for the ranch’s 40-horse herd.
  • Bonfire and Council Rings — A stone bonfire ring is located adjacent to the Learning Center for programs.  A large council fire ring with bench seating is located near the School in the Wilderness Site.
  • Hiking Trails — expanding network of hiking, horseback riding, and biking trails winding throughout the property.
  • Land Navigation Courses — Extensive network of land navigation courses throughout the 1,200-acre property.
  • Primitive Camping – drive-in and walk-in primitive campsites are available for those people wanting a more rustic or challenging experience. Each campsite has a picnic table and fire ring. Latrine facilities and water are readily available. Any needed camping equipment may be rented from the MWLR upon request.
  • Lake and Waterfront — Brand new lake complete with countless recreational activities including canoeing, kayaking, rope swings, the Blob, water ziplines, fishing, and more

Meramec Adventure Learning Center
Spend a day, an evening, or the weekend on a retreat in a beautiful secluded rustic-style lodge, reading a book in front of a two-story stone fireplace, and watching the sun rise over a pristine lake and the Meramec River Valley while relaxing on a 2,000 square-foot deck.

The learning center is complete with modern amenities and can be used as a central gathering location, training room, group retreats, overnightaccommodations;or forbanquets,weddings, and other special events with seating for up to 220 people. 

Bunk Room

Enjoy an evening in our rustic-style learning center, then head downstairs to our 30-bedbunkroom.The bunkroom is complete with showers and restroom facilities.  The bunkroom is also a great break-out location for meetings and conferences.

Dining Hall

The dining hall can be used as a central gathering location, training room, or dining area. With seating for up to 40 people, the dining hall also houses a full commercial kitchen.
